Even though Thursday night was reasonably priced, with Friday and taxes/fees the total was right at $600 for the two nights for a standard king room. 3rd so decided to spend a couple of nights.

I wonder how this restaurant stays in business? I got the impression that they do not value their staff and it shows. Have you ever eaten fries and not had anything to wash it down? I came away with wonder. The water also had the tin taste of the coffee, so we couldn't drink that either. The fries were good and the Hamburgers were without flavor, there was no salt or pepper in sight and I did not want to flag someone down to complain again, so I just opted to take a few bites and couldn't eat the rest. We both ordered a Hamburger and fries for $48.88 without tip or drinks (he took the coffee charge off our bill). I did notify our server and he offered to bring another cup, but I refused once I discovered it would be from the same pot!!!!. The coffee was some of the worst I have ever tasted (and I can drink some pretty bad stuff, but not this). While our server was pleasant and responsive, he was the only good thing about the experience. My biggest gripe had to do with eating lunch the next day at Mickey Mantle's Bar and grill. The slots were very very tight that night, more so than I can ever remember in the past, so not so much fun if you don't get to win at least a little now and then. We did not opt to eat any of the self serve food (that is just our preference). Our server was also very good despite the large number of guests. We ate at the Grand Via buffet and I must say that the crab legs, prime rib and mashed potatoes were great. Winstar does a good job with the friendly staff and courteous hosts. I did have some difficulty sleeping due to the mattress not being quite to my liking, but that is a personal gripe and may not affect anyone else. Everything appeared to be in good repair. The decor is modern and pleasing to the eye. The complimentary water was a much appreciated touch.

Our room was nice, clean and well stocked with a great view of the pool area. The check in was very efficient and friendly, not like Las Vegas.
